Policy issues
National defense is very important to me, because we need to keep our country and its people safe from enemies both foreign and domestic. Environmrnt is also very important, because we need to preserve our planet for generations to come. If there was no candidate that agreed with my beliefs, then I would still choose the republican most likely.

Two party system
I think that the two party system is an effective way to elect candidates, because usually the two big party nominees are usually the best to be able to run the country.
I think that voting for a third party is not throwing your vote away, because if you really believe that this candidate is better than the rest, than you should be able to choose.

Political Ideology
When I hear the word Democrat, I think of a political party of which has many different views depending on the politician, but they are all somewhat have more liberal views than the conservative republicans. I also know that Democrats like to stretch what the constitution says, and Republicans like to stick to the exact words of the constitution. I know that the Republicans focus more around businesses and likes to cut taxes, and Democrats like to focus on other parts of America, and likes to propose bills that can sometimes raise taxes for example President Obama's healthcare reform bill. I favor more towards the Republicans, because I think we should stick to the rules given to us, however I think we can also change the constitution as well only because a document made three hundred years ago doesn't have everything stated that we have in the modern world, so we can only tweak it in those cases specifically. I like how Republicans focus on taxing the most wealthy, and not so much on the empoverished part of our society, because I think that will help poor people for the long term.

Jury
In my opinion, I think that the voting should be changed to a vote of 10 to 2 because that would make trials go easier and we csn surpass all of the thick- headed people who don't agree with them no matter what. I think it is good for justice, because then if the two people really wants to have a voice, they don't have to be by themselves to make the point. I think that jurors can keep their cell phones because they have the right to keep them and they should know to restrain themselves from searching.

Congressional Earmarks
Congressional earmarks are projects that congressmen and congresswomen fund by the government, but not relevent to the entire country itself. The earmarks made by individual congressmen usually benefit only the states they are representing. Earmarks upset many Americans because some of the projects have nothing to do with anything if they are in different states, so it is a waste of money that could be spent on more important issues. The one that is completely obsurd and has nothing to do with the entire country would be the sex life of Japanese quail, this has absolutely nothing to to with any of yhe states ormeven the country, since they are quail from Japan. I think that this will not help the country in any way, so we just wasted money. To help keep track of the money being spent, we should have a overseeing committee of civilians who keeps track and judges if they will help the country or not.

Filibuster
A filibuster occurs when a senator refuses to give up the floor and prevents roll call! It provides a way for a senator's voice to be heard. A filibuster also gives a lot of power to the senator, they can maximize their leverage with congressmen and the president. I see a filibuster being a good thing if the senator is going for a cause worth following, and he or she knows that the public will back them up if they try to argue the case. A filibuster is also not a good feature because it slows down the interworkings of the governemnt, and other important duties of the other senators cannot be achieved while a filibuster is taking place. I think we should keep the filibuster because it is a right of the american people of freedom of speech, and if someone feels that passionate about something that they will talk hours on end about it, then I think they have the right to do so.

Capital punishment in Michigan
I agree with not having the capital punishment in Michigan, for example it would cost a lot, and we already don't have the money for that in our state. I think hiwever that for very specific circumstances a person should be put on death row, and should be executed for actions above all measures. I think that the methods of which some of the states use are cruel and unusual, but I think states can keep the ones they want, because if a person doesn't want to be put on the death penalty, then they either move to a different state or not commit the crime!
